Most people have anywhere from 5-40lbs of fecal mass sitting in their colon, and it is this build up of sludge that restricts the absorption of nutrients into the body, and at the same time it leeches toxins into the bloodstream. Purging the colon of this build-up is quite simple, and is becoming an everyday. Colon cleaning is required for the removal of toxic and mucus buildup in the colon and assists in recovering natural balance of crucial and bad bacteria and the adequate absorption and production of enzymes and vitamins. Proper colon flushing can assist diminish food intolerance, improve skin appearance, lessen cellulite, improve energy, erode weight, and enhance immune function.
The most Common Colon Purging methods:
The traditional methods of colon cleansing have included increasing the fiber in the diet while taking laxative herbs, such as Cascara Sagrada or Senna. These laxatives are harsh to the body and can create a dependency not unlike an addiction. Fiber for constipation usually is made up of psyllium seed husks. This natural plant derivative absorbs water in the bowel and becomes mucilaginous. This creates a bulk that is helpful for removing matter from the colon, but it is not a entire cleanse. Other methods include colonic irrigation (enemas/hydrotherapy), laxatives and the very effective oxygen-based cleansers. 1. Altering your Diet:
Some of the most essential diet changes include: (i) eradicate the use of dairy products (ii) Double your intake of vegetables (iii) Cut in half the amount of meat (iv) Drink 8 to 10 Glasses of bottled or filtered water (v) For breakfast eat a total grain cereal with Soya Milk (vi) Eat Fruit, sip on fruit or vegetable juice between meals. (vii) Eat as much fruit as you want but do not drink more than 6 ounces of fruit juice per hour. (viii) as a snack, at least 2 hours before retiring, you can have soup (non-creamed), fruit or vegetable salad. Use a non-fat dressing.
2. Enemas and Hydrotherapy:
Hosing out your colon is a very effective master plan to purge some of the compacted fecal matter. Enemas and hydrotherapy command a special tool being inserted into the anus and water, herbal concoctions or medications being sprayed through the tube/hose. Both are effective in unclogging the colon, but both only deal with the lower end of the large intestine and both of these methods are very unsuitable, need to be performed by specialist and can be very embarrassing for most.
3. Herbal Remedies:
A herbal colon clear out involves the use of special colon unblocking herbs which assist in the cleaning of toxic build-ups in the colon. Some of the more popular herbs used in herbal colon unclogging products are: beet root, apple fiber, bentonite, slippery elm, burdock, dandelion root, peppermint leaf and goldenseal root. Herbs such as psyllium can assist with bowel congestion and to assist in regularity of bowel movements, but don't offer any visible breaking down of compacted fecal mass. It is the compacted fecal matter that appears to be the root cause of most colon symptoms, and to get a true colon flush, this substance needs to be broken down and defecated. Other herbs such as slippery elm and apple fiber also help with regularity, but again do nothing to erode the nasty compacted matter.
4. Laxatives:
Laxatives work well to temporarily relieve constipation. They can have various side effects and can even become addictive, both psychologically and physiologically. In terms of being a complete colon unclogging solution, they simply fall short. They do not appear to offer any obvious reduction in the compacted fecal material that is known to be the cause of most colon ailments.
5. Oxygen-based Cleansers:
Arguably the best type of colon cleansers are Oxygen Cleansers. Why ? Because they effectively cleanse the unwanted bacteria in the colon while leaving the 'favorable' bacteria in the colon. Other colon unclogging methods can only clean up a small amount of the lower intestine. Oxygen-based cleansers, however, clean and spruce up the complete intestinal tract. These cleansers also have the added advantage of traveling to the kidneys and bladder to purify the urinary tract as well. While flushing of any kind will cleanse away beneficial and unhealthy bacteria, most people have more of the latter. Regular use of colon hydrotherapy largely reduces the toxic load in the colon. Oxygen cleansers do not affect these "healthy" bacteria. It terms of our internal "garden", together, the possibility exists that "weeds" can be reduced while "flowers" can grow. In fact, oxygen based colon cleansers help promote the growth and beneficial function of the flora that naturally help in digestion.
In summary, changes to your diet should always be made, before and after any colon unclogging treatment. Changes in diet will not flush your colon completely, but are essential for ongoing colon health. Combining a sensible diet with any of the aforementioned colon cleansing methods is a positive and important step, but you need to choose which of the other methods will help you best in unclogging your bowel. Laxatives are nonpermanent, and herbal remedies aren't too dissimilar. Colonic irrigation and enemas certainly do flush out compacted fecal material, but you need to decide if you are comfortable with such an intrusive method.
